After a brief discussion, research, and planning my group and I decided to go with action-packed, excitement, thrilled filled film. It toke a lot of deciding, but we finally got it settled down.

Some conventions that are typically used in a action based film are a heroic protagonist, a villain, ticking clock, disturbed setting, multiple life's that are on stake, chase sequences, stunt work, etc. These are just a few out of the multiple conventions that are usually seen in a everyday action film. My group and I have decided that we want to uphold these conventions, but also subvert them. We want to subvert conventions in the film we are going to produce because it challenges audience expectations, which keeps the audience hooked in since it not what they are usually used to. It also creates surprise, encourages critical thinking, and allows for fresh perspectives. Going against conventions that our audience are expecting leads to a more engaging and unique viewing experience by pushing the boundaries of traditional action films. We are considering doing a film in where Myself, Kimberly and another groupmate in which in this scenario would be Emily are wrestling each other in a intense match. typically people are used to seeing boys wrestle, so this would be going against conventions. Although two girls are fighting, throughout the film we would fit into the typical stereotype that two guys, which in this situation would be Kevin and Obed are also wrestling and are the main center of the film. This is a great way to showcase how girls are also being part of the match, and not just guys.

We are still brainstorming and figuring out what other conventions we want to be challenged. I'm excited to see our process of filming , and see what our film has to offer to our audience.
