Welcome back, today in class we toke a look at two different types of parts of the popular movie that had all the girls on there edge of the seat, Barbie. The first part was the trailer, and the second part was the opening  sequence .

At first I didn't know the difference of a title sequence, and a trailer but after watching both parts next to each other I got a glimpse of what each part of the film really has to offer. For example The purpose of a opening title sequence is to establish the tone, setting, and characters of the audience. It also may introduce the production team and cast members. Barbie opening sequence started off with a glimpse of a warm toned dessert valley where a few young girls dressed in old fashioned clothes were recking there old baby dolls. This is where the audience, including myself was a bit confused. I mean where all the pink?  Barbie is known for it's outstanding amount of dolls, and fashion taste. Not to long later, the "main" Barbie popped out, she is dressed in more fashion clothes and is portrayed as a perfect doll. As the little girls see this beautiful character, who is seen as a doll out of there range they are amazed. A angle is included in where we see the little girls looking up the doll, this adds a sprinkle to the sequence because it shows that the new character shown, is the main one. the one in the spotlight. We then see a wide range collection of all types of barbies made throughout the years. This ranges from barbies in designer swimsuits, to career outfits, to swimsuits, to pajamas, to everything you can think of. This shows how far barbie has come, and how popular it has been. We end off with a small glimpse of Barbie world. This leaves the audience hooked in,  with the main question what could Barbie world have to offer? As the opening sequence is a great way to see what this movie is revolving around, we also have the trailer. The purpose of a film trailer is to essentially "sell" a movie to it's potential viewers by providing a captivating glimpse into the story, tone, and visuals, generating excitement and anticipation for the film's release. Barbie definitely did not bring down these expectations. The film follows the main characters, Ken and Barbie on a journey of self-discovery through Barbie land and the real world following on existential crisis. They get a glimpse of the "real world", and are shown to be struggling to "fit in." Barbie world is nowhere close to what the real world is, Barbie world is a barbie dream place. filled with pink, and amazing features that make the movie unique. The trailer really hooks in the audience with the music, and shown of events that are going to happen throughout the video. You may think this movie is only for small kids, but as a 14 year old I am very excited to watch it.

We also took a long at a old fashioned popular opening title sequence named, "the Goonies. " Throughout the sequence many creative transitions were used, and we also got a glance at multiple parts that are going to occur in the film. The color scheme was neutral, and old fashioned while Barbie was filled with bright colors, mostly pink of course. Watching these films gave me a deeper understanding of what they really should serve to the audience, and I hope to apply this on to my upcoming film with my group.
