Welcome back, It's finally time to gather groups and plan out our 2 minute film to produce as the year goes on for our end of year assignment. My group consists of members Emily Trejo, Obed Jaime , Kevin Hipolito, and myself, Kimberly Duron. I have worked with all of them in the past, and we have continued to improve in each film we make. I am thrilled to be able to work with them in this upcoming project, and I can't wait to see what we are capable of producing . First thing we did as a group was to start talking about what genre we may want to revolve our film around. I first searched up genre ideas online to get some ideas and inspiration, I then realized there are so many genres and fun ideas to do. Everyone had there own ideas, opinions, and wants so we made sure to hear everyone explain what they may want to do. We decided we wanted to produce a exciting film, a film where our audience are excited to watch. We have not yet decided on what exact genre we might want to do,...

Post #3- Practice videos from semester 1

Throughout the first semester my partners and I worked on a total of 4 films. Two were made in each quarter. For the first quarter we worked on a film that we introduced camera angles, and another film where we revolved it around sound effects. Then in the second quarter we created a radon awareness video, and a film where we built a gingerbread house.  Throughout the 4 films done in the first semester I was involved in multiple roles including, actor, camera operator, director, and editor. Each and every film had there own successes and challenges. For example in quarter one where me and my partner worked on creating our first film ever, we went threw a lot of challenges. We didn't really know where to start, how to edit, neither what to include. The purpose of the first video was to get used to using different types of camera angles, finding which angle to use for which part of the scene was a bit challenging but we were able to include at least 4 camera angles. The next fi...

Post #2- reflections are first semester

As quarter 2 , and semester 1 have come to an end. I have taken time to reflect and go over everything I have learned so far. Throughout the first 5 months of taking AICE media studies, I can say I have worked on multiple video films and have done many assignments that have helped me gain a background understanding of all the steps people go threw to create a high quality film. I have seen myself improve in many areas, but still have so much more to learn as the year continues. I first toke a look in my media studies journal that we started in the beginning of the year . This journal contains all the basics that we have taken in use throughout the year. For example my journal has notes, scripts, and storyboards. The first notes I  toke were about different types of camera angles. We watched a video that introduced us to this huge factor where I learned how big of a factor camera angles hold in a film. This includes, low angle, over the shoulder angle, POV angle, pan angle, ti...

Image
Hello! My name is Kimberly. I am a freshman in Lely High School where I am taking Aice Media Studies. I chose to take this class in the beginning of summer because the name stood out to me. My sister also used to brag to me about how fun it was her freshman year, so I agreed to take it, and I do not regret it. I wasn't sure at first if I was going to enjoy it as much as my sister but as the year went I started really being interested in what Media studies really has to offer.  I hope to continue gaining new editing skills, and expand my knowledge on how the media industry works.
